BLE positioning
The positioning settings of BLE tags can be configured from the BLE positioning settings page https://app.pozyx.io/settings/ble.
Positioning profiles
BLE tags may be mounted at different heights or may require different filtering parameters. To accommodate this, multiple positioning profiles can be created, each with its own settings. A specific profile can be assigned to each tag individually.

To create a new profile:
Click the "New Positioning Profile" button.
Assign a name (e.g., Forklift).
The new profile will inherit initial settings from the Default profile.
The Default profile is automatically applied to all tags that do not have a custom positioning profile assigned.
To assign a positioning profile to a tag, navigate to Devices → Tags, and select the desired profile:

Positioning profile settings
Each positioning profile can be customized using the following parameters:
Height
Defines the fixed height of the tag above ground level (in millimeters). This is important for improving accuracy in 2.5D positioning scenarios.
Smoothness
The smoothness parameter controls the responsiveness of the position estimator:
A lower smoothness value (e.g., 0.01) means stronger hysteresis, which makes the position estimate more stable and slower to react to sudden changes. This is ideal for slow-moving tags or stationary assets, where noisy RSS data can cause jitter.
A higher smoothness value (e.g., 0.05 or above) means weaker hysteresis, which makes the position estimate more responsive and quicker to react to movement. This is ideal for fast-moving tags, such as those on forklifts or vehicles, but may result in a more jittery signal due to increased sensitivity to RSS fluctuations.
Default value: 0.02 — suitable for most asset tracking applications and typical walking-speed motion.
Moving disappear time
Sets the time (in seconds) before a moving tag disappears from the visualization if no updates are received.
This setting is purely visual and does not affect actual positioning output.
Useful to avoid clutter when tags temporarily go out of range or are inactive.
Default value: 10s
Stationary disappear time
Defines the disappear time for stationary tags. Since stationary tags automatically reduce their update rate1, this timeout should be longer than the moving disappear time.
Also purely visual.
Default value: 60s
